Elgin, TX – Thursday, February 18, the Bastrop County Republican Women will host a meeting to get ready for the Republican Primary. Find out where to vote, meet local and state Republican candidates and find out how you can get involved. Local candidates will be in attendance and the BCRW has invited the Republican Railroad Commissioner candidates and the Texas Supreme Court candidates as well.

The meeting will be held at 7pm in the First National Bank Community Room, 1312 Highway 290, Elgin. Attendance is open to the public and refreshments will be provided. TFRW recently had a fundraiser in Austin and a few Bastrop County Republican Women Offers and Members got to attend and meet Dana Perino.

Dana Perino served as the White House Press Secretary for President George W. Bush from September 14, 2007 to January 20, 2009. She was the second female White House Press Secretary. Since leaving the White House, Perino is now a political commentator on Fox News.

Our group was excited to meet her!

November 18 – Bastrop (joint meeting with BCRP)

The meetings are heald in the repective First National Bank Community Rooms for each city at 7pm. Please contact us if you would like to speak at the meeting or if you would like to provide refreshments.

Senator Hegar & Representative Kleinschmidt in Bastrop

On November 19th Senator Glenn Hegar & State Representative Tim Kleinschmidt will both be
in Bastrop. Senator Hegar has been named the Chairman of the Sunset Advisory
Commission and received Legislator of the Year by the Texas Minining and Reclamation
Association and an award from Texans for Lawsuit Reform. He will be speaking about
the legislative session and the issues effecting our community.

Tim Kleinschmidt will also be in attendance and will be awarded by Texas for Fiscal Responsibility
For his performance in the last legislative session.

This is your opportunity to meet with and hear from our elected officials during the November joint
meeting of the Bastrop County Republican Party and the Bastrop County Republican Women.
The meeting will be held on November 19th at 7pm at the main branch of the First National Bank,
489 Highway 71 West in Bastrop. Refreshments will be served. Please contact 512-303-1844 for more information.

Please join us in welcoming our State Senator & Representative to Bastrop

so we can have a large crowd on hand to thank them for the conservative

role they play in our Texas State Government.

Bastrop Tea Party -September 7th

The organization committee for Bastrop’s local Tea Parties has asked me to relay the following information to you:

The next Tea Party in Bastrop County will be on Labor Day, September 7, from 10 am to noon at the Gazebo outside the Bastrop County Courthouse. The theme will be “Celebrating Liberty.”

The organizers would like ice, bottled water, and hot dogs to be provided at the event. Donations are requested to cover the cost.

If you have an interest in helping cover that cost, please contact us and I will relay your information to the organizers.

Summer Update

I hope you are enjoying your summer! The BCRW doesn’t have a separate meeting this month, but I will be attending the BCRP meeting. Please join us there for a Republican Summer update.

The BCRP meeting will be held in Elgin on Monday, July 27th at 7pm. It is located at the First National Bank Community Room in Elgin off Hwy 290.

Our Next Regular meeting is not until October, but be on the lookout for updates from me over the next few weeks about upcoming events & news! We are planning on a busy Fall once kids are back in school!

BCRP June Meeting

The Bastrop County Republican Party meets June 22, at 7 pm, at First National Bank in Smithville. The public is invited to attend.

Reports will include a review of the Bicentennial Lincoln Dinner, the upcoming July 4 Tea Party in Bastrop, Legislative information, and upcoming races. We will also look at the structure of the US Constitution. I expect you will find the meeting informative and educational.

Refreshements will be served. We hope to see you there!
