Bastrop Pregnancy Resource Center

Last year the BCRW adopted the Bastrop Pregnancy Resource Center as one of our ‘Caring for America’ projects. They have just moved into a new, larger location and need some items that will help them settle into their new place.

Right now they have plenty of diapers, wipes and baby food.

The following is a list of their needs:

baby blankets, quilts
baby clothes for winter
baby lotions, soaps, shampoo and other toiletries
bookshelf
conference or other large table
wall decorations – ie: Hope, Faith, a cross (neutral colors)
volunteers
cash donations

Please bring items to the next BCRW meeting or take them directly to the center at 82 Loop 150W (next to Texan Eye).

Since the Christmas season is usually a time to cook & bake for your family – thought it would be a good moment to ask you to pick some of your favorite recipes and send my way – as one of our 2012 Fundraising Activities will be preparing and selling a BCRW Cookbook!

Any and all submissions welcome! If you don’t have them in electronic format and it is easier to fax them to me contact me to get my fax number.

You can also scan them into your computers to email or – type them into either an email or a word or PDF document. However is easiest for you!

Look forward to a wealth of submissions from ya’ll.

We’ll be putting them into categories (Baked goods, salads, entrees, etc.) in the first quarter and hope to have them available by April.

What would you think if you were told that within the near future you could not have?

1. Any Private Property

2. Any Air Conditioning at your residence or office

3. All sources of Red Meat was outlawed

4. All water, even the rain run off, was the property of the Government

5. Your children or grandchildren were to be “assessed” and “assigned” their life’s job assignment by age 9

Scary? “Can’t happen in America?”

These items are all part of AGENDA 21 announced by the United Nations in 1992 and planned implementation through local (City, County and State) agency known as the International Council for Local Energy Initiatives (ICLEI.)

Using the deception that the “environment” is in danger and that ONLY by identifying the above as “UNSUSTAINABLE”, ICLEI is recruiting all government agencies to enforce regulations and pass laws to have the above become reality!

3. Scroll down and choose “Agenda 21.”
4. You are now in the Agenda 21 document.
5. Note the UN symbol in the upper left hand corner of the page.

Take time to read pages 337 (Ski Runs), 351 (No plows or fences), 728 (Commercial farming), 730 (Paved Roads or single dwelling homes, paved roads, railroads and even wall tiles), 733 (Range lands, technology, fish ponds, rangelands), 738 (modern recreational hunting), 755 (Dams and reservoirs and changing the course of rivers from natural course)

Please come to the presentation on this issue by John Marler, a member of the Williamson County tea Party and the Centex 9-12 organization. The presentation is at the First National Bank, Main Street, Smithville, Texas on the 15th of September, starting at 7:00 P.M.

This Thursday, May 19th at 7pm in Bastrop at the main Branch of First National Bank, The BCRW will be holding thier May Meeting. The speaker is Dr. Wayne Thorburn, former executive director of Young Americans for Freedom, former Exec. Dir. Republican Party of Texas, taught PoliSci @ Arkansas State U, Texas State U and U of Maryland. Was Regional Rep. for U.S. Dept. of Education during the Reagan administration and author of A Generation Awakes. Speaking to us on the subject of : “Before There Was a Tea Party: The Conservative Movement and the Republican Party”

June Bake Sale Fundraiser

Just got off the phone with our friends at First National Bank and they have confirmed we have the entry lobby for Friday, June 3 @ 9 a.m. for our BAKE SALE!!

So – Sandra Stokes, our Bake Sale coordinator for this function – will be calling everyone for commitments.

Get your aprons on & let us know if you will bake goodies and / or take a shift the day of the Bake Sale to raise money for the BCRW!!

National Federation of Republican Women Decries Passage of Health Care Bill

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Following the passage of the Democrat health care bill in the U.S. House of Representatives, National Federation of Republican Women President Sue Lynch said:

“The National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) is disappointed in the Democrats’ decision to disregard the will of the American people to advance a strictly partisan plan that fails to fix the real problems in our health care system. What arrogance.

“As House Minority Leader John Boehner said last night in a very passionate speech, ‘This is the people’s House. The moment the majority forgets it, they start writing themselves a ticket to minority status.’

“The NFRW is issuing a ‘call to action’ to our more than 1,500 clubs, asking each to watch closely those representatives in their districts who voted to support this bill. They need to be held accountable for putting America in jeopardy.

“In contrast, we applaud House Republicans, who, despite intense pressure from their Democrat colleagues, stood firm and united in their efforts to defeat this bill.”

Founded in 1938, the NFRW has thousands of active members in local clubs across the nation and in several U.S. territories, making it one of the largest women’s political organizations in the country. The grassroots organization recruits and elects Republican candidates, advocates the Party’s philosophy and initiatives, and empowers women in the political process.
