Walk To Texas Victory
May 15, 2008
What is “Walk to Win”?
“Walk-to-Win” is a statewide, coordinated voter identification effort lead by Texas Victory 2008 – the Get-Out-The-Vote project of the Republican Party of Texas
Go to http://www.texasvictory.org/ for more information.
What will be happening on May 17th?
On “Super Saturday”, May 17th, Republican grassroots activists and volunteers will be knocking on doors in neighborhoods across the state.
The goal of Walk to Win is to knock on 100,000 doors in the month of May.
What will these volunteers be doing/telling people?
The focus of this effort is Voter ID – that is identifying people who voted in the 2004 and 2006 general election and gauging their support for our Republican candidates on the ballot this fall.
By gathering this information now, our Party and our individual candidates will be able to run more effective and efficient GOTV efforts in the fall.
On top of identifying support and being good listeners, volunteers will be available to register new voters as well.
Where will these walks be taking place?
Everywhere. All across the state. We have staging locations for volunteers in all of our larger metropolitan areas, however, if a volunteer calls Victory from a small town and asks how they can help, the volunteer will be provided with a walk list and map so that they can walk their own precinct.
Governor Perry will be kicking off a walk in
What does a volunteer need to do to get involved?
If you’d like to take part, please go to www.texasvictory.org and click on “Walk to Win”. A Victory staff member will contact you directly to either tell you where there is a gathering location for volunteers in your area OR to provide you with the tools you need to walk your own neighborhood.
If anyone has any general questions, please don’t hesitate to email rogerwilliams@texasgop.org or call 512-879-4066.
