September 16, 2008

This Sunday, September 21, 2008, from 3-5 pm, there will be a bi-partisan candidate forum held at the Bastrop High School Cafetorium on Chambers Street. Republican and Democrat candidates for the following offices will be featured:

State Representative, District 17 (the entire county is in this district)
Bastrop County Sheriff (county-wide office)
District Judge, 423rd Judicial District Court (county-wide office)
Bastrop County Commissioner, Precinct 1 (includes City of Bastrop, Tahitian Village, Lake Bastrop Acres, and The Colony areas)
Bastrop County Commissioner, Precinct 3 (includes city of Cedar Creek, Red Rock, Rockne, and all areas of the County West of 1209 and south of the River)

Candidates will each be given 1 minute to introduce themselves, they will be asked to respond to 4 questions and given 2 minutes to respond to each, and they will have 1 minute for a closing statement. The questions the candidates will be responding to have been pre-published so the candidates can prepare their responses.

Please plan to attend this event and give a strong Republican presence there.
