McCaul Fundraiser Replaces Monthly BCRP Meeting
July 26, 2008
Monday night is the regularly scheduled meeting of the Bastrop County Republican Party. We have learned that Congressman McCaul’s staff scheduled a fundraiser for him in Bastrop for the same evening. We are therefore cancelling our meeing and inviting all attend the fundraiser and meet Congressman Michael McCaul at his “Chat ‘n Chew” on July 28. McCaul is running for re-election to the 10th Congressional District of Texas.
Local Republicans will be there to support Congressman McCaul in place of their regular monthly meeting and to discuss issues of concern to Central Texas residents. McCaul is the Ranking Member of the Homeland Security Subcommittee on Emerging Threats, Cybersecurity, Science and Technology. One piece of legislation McCaul introduced last year was a bill to authorize higher education curriculum development and graduate training in advanced energy and green building technologies. It has been referred to the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources.
The Monday, July 28 fundraiser will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Texas Aggregates Recreation Area, 420 Old Perkins Road in Bastrop. Cost is $25 per person and refreshments will be provided. There will be a skeet shoot for anyone wanting to participate.
Albert L. Ellison, Chairman
Bastrop County Republican Party
